Results of Recent In-House Viper-Skin Testing

NRI is committed to providing our clients with the utmost in quality, reliability, durability, and integrity with our composite pipeline repair solutions. Our Engineering Department recently completed in-house ing of Viper-Skin, a hybrid carbon and glass fiber composite used for pipeline integrity, and the results were phenomenal. Just a little background: The burst was performed on a 6″ OD Schedule 40 – Grade B pipe. In brief, the 80% wall lost defect was filled with Syntho-Poxy HC, a two-part load transferring epoxy, then Syntho-Subsea LV, an epoxy mastic sealant system, was applied, and finally 20 layers of Viper-Skin was wrapped. If a photo is word a thousand words, then these photos are worth the burst pipe results of 5,734 psi (395 bar). In conclusion, this demonstrates that NRI”s composite repair and reinforcement technology is Stronger Than Steel.
