Syntho-Sleeve™ Directional Drilling Weld Joint Coating System
PRODUCT INFORMATION
Syntho-Sleeve™ is designed to protect field welded joints on coated pipelines from the abrasion stresses of directional drilling on all pipe diameters. It is easy to apply, has a very low profile, is extremely conformable, and highly impact resistant. The result is a cost effective, long term protection against corrosion.
Syntho-Sleeve™ has a unique capability to conform to the pipe coatings and field joints while offering exceptional abrasion and impact resistance due to its low profile.
The Syntho-Sleeve System provides a more cost effective solution by:
- Increasing speed of application
- Eliminating the need of flame torch
- Reducing the damage during pull through due to its low profile
- Outstanding impact on damage resistance
- Cold flow providing permanent inflow into the finest pores of the substrate
- Low surface tension; adheres on all dry substrates at a molecular level
- Extremely surface tolerant; no grit blasting, only wire brushing or hand tool cleaning required
- Non-crystalline

The Syntho-Sleeve™ is used for:
- Field Joints
- Directional Drilling
- Girth Weld Protection
The Syntho-Sleeve™ benefits:
- No osmosis or under creep problems possible
- No cathodic disbondment
- CP function is not affected by Syntho-Sleeve
- Guaranteed performance
- Cost savings
- Smooth, low profile
- Easy to apply
- Faster installation time
- Higher abrasion resistance
- Higher impact resistance
- No flame work
- Minimal surface preparation

PREPARATION & APPLICATION
-
1
Surface Preparation
Promote adhesion by removing pipe coating, rust, paint and other foreign matter in accordance with Sa 2.5, NACE 2 or white metal. -
2
Syntho-Steel® Load Transfer Putty
Syntho-Steel putty fills all pits, dents and other anomalies effectively transferring the hoop load to the high tensile strength composite. -
3
Syntho-Subsea High Compression
Kevlar filled Subsea epoxy ensures a water-tight seal over the repair area while providing chemical resistance. -
4
Syntho-Glass®XT Extreme Tensile Strength Composite The bi-directional fiberglass permanently repairs and reinforces both the internal & external corrosion damage.
