Thousands of Fort Lauderdale residents were at risk of an interruption
in their water service when a 54" raw sewage line with a 48" saddle cracked behind a mechanical joint at the city's sewage treatment plant. The 8" long crack, 1" wide at the six o'clock position, had an operating pressure of 35 psi, requiring an immediate repair.
